Shipping, Returns and Terms of Sale
Effective Date: October 1, 2026
These Shipping, Returns and Terms of Sale ("Sale Terms") govern purchases of physical and digital products from the Stone Kite online store, operated by Stone Kite Inc., a Delaware corporation ("Stone Kite," "we," "us"). They form part of, and should be read together with, our Terms of Service, including its dispute resolution and limitation of liability provisions. If these Sale Terms and the Terms of Service conflict about a purchase, these Sale Terms control. Nothing in these Sale Terms limits any rights you have under the consumer law where you live.
- Where We Ship
We ship to the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, the European Union and most other countries. The countries we serve are listed in the country selector at checkout. Duties, import taxes, and sales tax are described in Section 6. Customers in the European Union and the United Kingdom should also read Annex A.
- Orders and Acceptance
Your order is an offer to purchase. We accept your order for a physical product when we send the shipping confirmation for it, and for a digital product when we deliver it to your account; before then, we may decline or cancel an order (in whole or in part) for reasons including suspected fraud or abuse, resale or bot activity, pricing or listing errors, product unavailability, or a shipping destination we do not serve. If we cancel, we will notify you and refund everything you paid for the cancelled items, including shipping. If a product's price was listed in error, we will contact you with the correct price and cancel the order unless you confirm at the corrected price.
We may set per-customer quantity limits on any product, and products purchased from the store are for personal use and not for resale.
- Pre-Orders: When You Are Charged, and When It Arrives
Single items are sold as pre-orders. Bundles are pre-orders too, with the differences set out in Section 4. Four things to know before you order a pre-order:
-
You are not charged when you place your order. Your payment method is saved when you order and charged shortly before the item ships. The charge date is shown on the product page, at checkout and in your order confirmation, and we email you before the charge so you can update your card or cancel. You authorise that charge when you place the order.
-
The price you are charged is the price shown when you placed your order. We do not reprice a pre-order at the time of dispatch.
-
Delivery time: pre-ordered print items are dispatched by 15 November 2026, and we undertake to deliver within 10 weeks of the date of your order. The expected dispatch date for each item is shown on its product page and in your order confirmation. If we cannot meet that delivery undertaking, you may cancel for a full refund, and we will not treat a change of date as agreed unless you agree to it.
-
You can cancel any pre-ordered item at any time before it ships, at no cost to you. Because payment is taken only shortly before the item ships, cancelling before the charge date means you are never charged, and cancelling after the charge and before dispatch gets you a full refund. Email support@stonekite.com with your order number.
- Bundles: One Shipment, Charged Before Dispatch
A bundle is the four issues of a series bought together at one price. It follows Section 3 with these differences.
-
You are not charged when you place your order. Your payment method is saved when you order and charged shortly before the bundle is dispatched. The charge date is shown on the product page, at checkout and in your order confirmation, and we email you before the charge so you can update your card or cancel.
-
The price you are charged is the price shown when you placed your order. We do not reprice a bundle later.
-
Delivery: a bundle is delivered in one shipment after the last issue is printed. The expected dispatch date is shown on the product page (by 15 March 2027 for ONE ZERO ONE issues 1 to 4). That date is our delivery undertaking for a bundle and replaces the ten-week undertaking in Section 3, which applies to single items only. If the date changes we will email you, and a change is not agreed unless you agree to it.
-
You can cancel a bundle at any time before it is dispatched. Before the charge date, nothing has been taken and there is nothing to refund. After the charge and before dispatch, we refund you in full.
-
If we do not publish an issue, we refund its share of the bundle price, being the bundle price divided by four, without you needing to ask.
-
Your right to cancel above is in addition to any statutory rights, including the withdrawal right in Annex A for consumers in the European Union and the United Kingdom, which runs from delivery.
- Shipping, Delivery, and Risk of Loss
Shipping rates depend on your destination and the weight of the parcel, and are shown at checkout before you pay. Shipping is charged per shipment: an order that holds single issues and a bundle is two shipments, and checkout shows a rate for each. You will receive a shipping confirmation with tracking for each shipment. Comics ship in a rigid protective mailer; art prints ship rolled in a tube. Title to and risk of loss for a physical product pass to you on delivery to your address. If a tracked shipment is lost in transit, contact support@stonekite.com and we will replace it or refund it.
- Duties, Import Taxes, and Sales Tax
Our products are printed and dispatched from Canada. What that means for you depends on where you are.
United States: applicable sales tax is calculated and shown at checkout.
United Kingdom: our UK VAT registration is in progress. Until it is complete, no VAT is added at checkout. Printed comics and books are zero-rated for UK VAT. Art prints are not sold to the United Kingdom until our registration is complete.
European Union: the price you pay us does not include EU import VAT or customs duty. Because your order is imported from Canada, the following are payable by you, the recipient, on delivery, and are collected by the carrier rather than by us: import VAT at your country's rate; a European Union customs duty of EUR 3 per type of goods (customs tariff line) on consignments valued up to EUR 150; and any clearance, brokerage or handling fee the carrier charges for collecting them. These amounts are not shown at checkout because they are set by your country's customs authority and your carrier, not by us. We tell you this before you order so that you can take it into account.
Other countries: the price you pay us does not include import VAT, customs duty or any carrier clearance fee. These are payable by you, the recipient, on delivery, and are collected by the carrier rather than by us.
If you refuse a package at customs and it is not returned to us, we cannot refund it; if it is returned to us, we will refund the product price but not the original shipping.
If you are a consumer in the European Union or the United Kingdom, the rights in Annex A apply to your purchase and take precedence over the customs-refusal provision in this Section 6 to the extent they conflict.
- Returns
Unless otherwise noted on the product page, a printed item may be returned within 30 days of delivery, in the condition you received it and in its original packaging. Email support@stonekite.com before sending anything back so we can give you return instructions. You pay return shipping unless the item arrived damaged or was not what you ordered, and original shipping is not refunded on a return.
Damaged or incorrect items: email support@stonekite.com within 30 days of delivery with your order number and a photo, and we will replace the item or refund it in full, including shipping.
- Digital Editions
Digital editions are not shipped; they are delivered to your Stone Kite account. Digital editions are not refundable once accessed, except as required by law.
- Refunds
Approved refunds go to your original payment method within 10 business days of approval. We will confirm by email when a refund is issued. If you cancel a pre-ordered item or a bundle before its charge date, no payment will have been taken and there is nothing to refund. If you cancel after the charge and before dispatch, we refund you in full.
- Events Outside Our Control
We are not responsible for delay or failure to ship caused by events outside our reasonable control, including printer or carrier disruption, customs delays, or natural events. This does not affect the delivery undertakings in Sections 3 and 4 or your right to cancel under Section 3, Section 4 or Annex A.
- Questions and Disputes
Questions about an order, a return, or a cancellation: support@stonekite.com - include your order number. Stone Kite Inc., PO Box 858, Santa Monica, CA 90406, United States. Disputes relating to a purchase are handled as described in the Terms of Service, including its arbitration provision and its Quebec and consumer-law carve-outs.
Annex A - Additional Terms for Consumers in the EU and UK
Right of withdrawal. If you are a consumer in the European Union or the United Kingdom, you have the right to withdraw from a purchase of physical goods within 14 days of the day you (or someone you nominate) receive the goods, without giving any reason. For an order delivered in parts, the period runs from receipt of the last item. To exercise the right, tell us by an unequivocal statement before the period expires - email support@stonekite.com (you may use the model form below, but you do not have to). We will refund all payments received from you, including standard delivery charges, without undue delay and no later than 14 days from the day we are informed, using the same means of payment you used; we may withhold the refund until we have received the goods back or you have supplied evidence of having sent them. You must send the goods back without undue delay and no later than 14 days from the day you notify us, and you bear the direct cost of returning them. You are liable only for any diminished value of the goods resulting from handling beyond what is necessary to establish their nature, characteristics, and functioning.
Pre-orders and bundles. This right of withdrawal is in addition to your rights under Section 3 and Section 4 to cancel before dispatch. Because a pre-order or bundle is placed well before delivery, you can cancel at any point between placing the order and 14 days after the last item arrives.
Digital content. For digital editions, you consent to delivery beginning immediately on purchase and acknowledge that you thereby lose the right of withdrawal once delivery has begun.
Model withdrawal form. To: Stone Kite Inc., support@stonekite.com - I hereby give notice that I withdraw from my contract of sale of the following goods: [ ], ordered on [ ] / received on [ ], name and address of consumer, signature (only if on paper), date.
Statutory rights. Nothing in these Sale Terms affects your statutory rights, including legal guarantees of conformity for goods and digital content in your country of residence.
